The meeting was called to order at 1:15 on Sunday, October 24, 2010 by President Sue Reimund, who used a very special wooden gavel to open the meeting.  On its metal plate was inscribed "1958 Official Gavel of WATC" and was anonymously sent to Sue.  She explained that as our club was incorporated in 1957, this is truly a piece of history.  It was passed around for all to see.   Sue also read a thank you note from Paula Lackner, who wrote on behalf of ATRA, thanking us for the DannyQuest bronze statue we donated to them.  It was won for $220 at their fundraiser and now belongs to club members Peggy and Jon Flyte.

Pam Straus made a motion to accept the previous Meeting Minutes as printed, and it was seconded by Lanny Duttlinger.

PRESIDENT'S REPORT President Sue Reimund has received word that we are in compliance with the AKC, meaning that we filled the 4 requisites to hold a Specialty Show.  These requisites are: 1.  Breeders Referral List, which is ongoing. 2.  Rescue Program with guess speaker, which was filled by having Paula Lackner speak at our Spring walk on 5/23/10. 3.  Ad in newspaper promoting AKC pure bred dogs, which was in the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel from 10/8/10 - 10/11/10. 4.  Educational activity, which was The Dog Show Game at our Fun Day.

There was no Vice President's Report.

There was no Secretary's Report.

TREASURER'S REPORT Sandi Cooley reported that our checkout account balance is $5,892.54, and our CD is the same as the last report.

Trophy Committee:  Pam Straus passed around photos of trophies she is considering for our 2011 Specialty Show.   Lisa Berglin discussed our Liz LaPointe Memorial Trophy, which was once a traveling trophy.  Because there are so many other trophies used for prizes, Lisa mentioned using it as artwork or a centerpiece for show photos.  It was agreed that we would do that.

OLD BUSINESS Lisa is also working on our Airedale Terrier Club of America (ATCA) yearbook entry.  She said she would mail her written entry to officers and board members for approval.  The deadline is Dec. 17th.

It was decided at our last meeting that Pam Lyon would look into donating to the Rabies Challenge Fund.  You can find more information on this at  Pam learned that if we donate between Sept. 1 and Nov. 30, 2010, there would be a matching anonymous donation.  There was a discussion on how much to donate.  Pam Straus made a motion that we donate $500, which, with a matching donation, would make it a $1,000 donation.  Sandi Cooley seconded the motion, and it was passed.

Pam Straus made a motion to adjourn.

Grafton Christmas Parade

Bring your dogs - dress them in their Holiday finery!

The parade begins at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 27th, but we ask people to arrive between 10:00 and 10:15, as some of the roads are closed off as it gets closer to 11:00.

We will meet in the same parking lot as last year -- next to the Dickmann Manufacturing building.  The easiest way to get there is to take 4th Street south off of Hwy. 60.  Go 2 blocks on 4th street, then turn left (East) on Beech Street.  Go 2 - 3 blocks, and the parking lot will be on your left.  The address of Dickmann Manufacturing is 606 Beech Street, Grafton WI  53024.  If you have problems that day, call my cell phone, 262-483-1802.

Please bring poop pick-up bags.  You may also want to bring water and a water bowl for your dog for after the parade.

WATC Christmas Party and Gift Exchange

Our 2nd Holiday event is the Annual Christmas Party and Gift Exchange.  It will be held at The Paramount Grille in Grafton on Sunday, December 19th.  (The Packers play that night, at 7:30).

The restaurant is located at 1304 - 12th Avenue, Grafton WI  53024, right in the middle of downtown Grafton.  Turn south off of Hwy. 60 at the main stoplights, Wisconsin Avenue, go 2 blocks,  and the Paramount will be on your  left.   Click on Menu at the top, then Sunday Brunch on the left side of the page..

We will meet at 11:30 and be seated around noon  (did you notice the Bloody Mary bar??).  After lunch we will have a Yankee Gift Exchange.  Please bring a wrapped gift valued at $20.  It doesn't have to be dog related, but many of them are!  After the gift exchange, there will be a short meeting.

If you plan to attend, please send me a check for $12.50, which includes the brunch, tax and tip.    Please mail these to me by Wed., Dec. 15th.
